The Project is the University of Texas at Austin’s largest single day of student service. This annual university-wide event helps thousands of students, faculty, and staff connect with a different Austin neighborhood. It is organized and run by the Community Engagement Collective (CEC) and marks the culmination of a partnership between the CEC and the selected neighborhood’s community leaders.
Event Information
Project 2024 will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at multiple sites in the Dove Springs community.
- Priority Registration for student and staff organizations will be open from September 24 – October 11, 2024.
- General Volunteer Registration dates for students, alumni and neighborhood residents will be posted on the Project GivePulse website from October 3 – November 2, 2024.

Community Partner Steering Committee
Each neighborhood that becomes a Project partner has its own unique history, centers of activity, and goals. a steering committee is formed for each cycle of The Project, made up of residents, city and corporate partners, and Project planning committee members. Meeting regularly from March to November, the group creates connections and sets up projects across the neighborhood to be completed on Project Day.
