VolunteerUT is the umbrella that connects members of the UT community with direct service opportunities across central Texas. VolunteerUT’s programs and resources make volunteering easily accessible, whether as a one-time event or an ongoing commitment. Check out all the ways to connect:
- GivePulse is the primary platform used to connect UT students, faculty, and staff with local organizations in need of volunteers. By logging in with your EID, you can search for service opportunities under the “Events” tab.
- @volunteer_ut Instagram account shares volunteer opportunities and is a quick, easy way for students to find a place to serve.
- Sign up to receive our weekly email that highlights volunteer opportunities around Austin!
- Join us for our service series!
Canvas
Join our Canvas space! Members of the UT Austin community who join will have access to GivePulse user guides, regular updates from the Center for Community Engagement, volunteer requests and recommendations and more. This space is best for: student organization officers in charge of service, staff and professors who manage service for their courses, programs or scholarships, and all Longhorns looking for volunteer opportunities.
VolunteerUT Fellows
Our team of undergraduate fellows serve as the primary contact and support team for all colleges, schools and units. Each of the 10 fellows support 1-2 colleges, identifying service-learning courses, helping to secure community partners for class projects, and providing training for any individual or group looking to expand their use of community engagement resources.
GivePulse Support
The VolunteerUT team has created user guides to help students, faculty, staff and our community partners learn how to use GivePulse. In addition to the guides below, we offer monthly trainings to faculty and nonprofits as well as by appointment for student groups.
Volunteer Fair
VolunteerUT hosts the annual Volunteer Fair at the beginning of the school year, inviting dozens of organizations from the greater Austin area to campus to share volunteer opportunities with students.
Days of Service Series
Each year, CCE coordinates several local days of action that coincide with nationally recognized days of service. If you’re looking for an opportunity to get involved in a larger event with the Austin community, these days are a great place to start!

President’s Volunteer Service Award
The President’s Volunteer Service Award is the nation’s premier volunteer awards program, encouraging United States citizens or lawfully admitted permanent residents of the United States through presidential recognition to live a life of service. The CCE is a certifying organization for anyone in the Central Texas area.
Volunteer/Organization of the Month
Each month an individual and an organization are recognized for their impact in the community. Honorees are selected by the VolunteerUT Fellows cohort each month from recent nominations. The nomination form is always open, and nominees are reviewed each month.
